The state of my life as of right now. Last updated September 2026!
- What I’m Working On
- I am chipping away at my newest comic, “Is This You?” I am planning on releasing it as a completed work instead of dribbling it out one page at a time. The comic is so visceral, disgusting, and sexual that I need to create it on my own terms. If randos are peering over my shoulder and commenting on it, I’ll get so self-conscious that I’ll never finish the damn thing.
The standard webcomic format of posting one or two pages at a time does not work with my brain chemistry. You will see the comic when I finish it! I’m having fun making art in private without strangers breathing down my neck. - Brain
- Guess who was diagnosed with ADHD right before his 33rd birthday? That’s right, my gay ass has AuDHD. I’m learning how to accommodate myself and I’m trying to find a medication that works. Concerta doesn’t do anything for me, but Ritalin ER is pretty good. On top of that, I’m embracing my identity as a transmasc. My medication makes me feel more like myself.
- Music
- “Terror Squad” by Artillery. It’s been on repeat for days. I can already tell it’s going to be one of my hood classics.
Don’t be fooled by the horrible cover art, which looks like it was done by the second or third best artist of the 8th grade class of 1987. This album is stuffed to the brim with intense thrash riffs that never let up. I’ve been toying with the idea of remaking the album art because I know I’m the right man for the job, but reworking the perspective while staying true to the original composition is going to be tough. If I go through with it, it’s going to be one of those projects I chip away at over the course of several months. - What I Did Recently
- Pearl came to visit me at my house! It was too hot to go much of anywhere, so we hung out, went to restaurants, watched a bunch of movies, and got stoned. She liked Cracker Barrel so much we went back twice. Nora loves her and followed her everywhere she went. It was fun to drive her around and show her midwestern American life, not just the theme park America of the big city. Neither of us wanted to go on a relentless pursuit of fun in Chicago because it’s too crowded and smells like pee. Next time I’m going to pick her up directly from the airport and drive her home. We can even stop at Cracker Barrel on the way.
- What I’m Not Doing
- I am not using any form of social media and I’m exponentially happier. I don’t post anywhere except my own website! I’m recovering from a bad period of my life by unplugging from the online world and taking care of my brain. Social media is so awful for my mental health that it is legitimately unsafe for me to use it. After years of trying to fit into toxic webcomic communities with people who recreationally feel sorry for themselves and bicker with each other, it’s nice to have some goddamn peace and quiet for a change.
What is this whole thing?
This is a “/now page,” an idea from the indie web. The short version: instead of a blog where old posts pile up forever, you keep one page that says what you’re into and focused on at this point in your life, and you overwrite it whenever things change. The format was popularized by Derek Sivers, who wanted a simple way for people to catch up on what their friends are up to without needing social media. It’s a nice fit for a guy who’s quit social media. Below is a list of other slashpages from around the indie web, with each name linking to where that page type started, in case you want to find more.
